About Me
I am Mahdi Karimi, a clinical psychologist with over 12 years of experience in psychotherapy, currently living in Aarhus, Denmark, with my wife. Since starting my studies in psychology, I have always sought to help individuals confront their psychological and emotional challenges and achieve a better and more meaningful life. Additionally, my personal experience of migration has allowed me to become familiar with the challenges in this area and better understand the issues faced by immigrant clients.
Professional Ethics
Throughout my career, I have undergone psychoanalysis, and this commitment to personal psychoanalysis has helped me gain greater awareness of my personality, emotions, and reactions. Being under supervision is another aspect of my commitment to the highest standards of psychotherapy. This professional oversight allows me to continuously receive constructive feedback regarding the sensitive work I undertake and ensures that my therapeutic approaches remain current and effective.
Maintaining complete confidentiality in therapy sessions is one of the fundamental principles of my work. I strongly believe in creating a safe and trustworthy environment, and all information shared during sessions is kept strictly confidential.
Educational and Professional Background
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in General Psychology from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Tabriz University. I am a member of the Iranian Psychological Association with membership number 9411 and hold a license from the Iranian Welfare Organization. After moving to Denmark, I obtained a work permit from the Danish Psychological Association and am currently authorized to use the official title of “psychologist” and practice psychotherapy in this country.
